Manage Your Health as You Depend on Your Truck

The hours worked by truck drivers make it nearly impossible to make or keep medical appointments. This limits your options when a health problem arise, leading many truck drivers to ignore symptoms and drive while sick. Contrary to drivers perceptions of their good health, eight out of 10 drivers in the University Study Sample were either overweight or obese.

In 2008 alone, almost two million truckers either experienced a near miss or actually crashed, causing death or injury to thousands. There is ample evidence to suggest that truckers’ health problems (e.g., sleep disorders) and modifiable risk factors (e.g., insufficient physical activity) could significantly influence road-traffic accident rates. As a result of the accumulation of such health risk burdens, life expectancy of U.S. truck drivers is 16 years lower than that of the general U.S. male population.

The hours spent sitting in a truck cab along with poor food choices lead to a disproportionally obese workforce. 86% of the 3 million truck drivers in the United States are overweight or obese. Of these 3 million truck drivers, only 8% exercise regularly compared to 49% of the general population.

Current federal law does not allow a person who has a medical history or clinical diagnosis of diabetes mellitus that requires insulin for control to be granted a CDL for interstate operation. But federal law allows the granting of a two-year exemption for such people under certain conditions. The exemption can be renewed IF you get your diabetes under control - such as through weigh loss.

This is quite the paradox, as the lifestyle and unhealthy choices available to truckers open them up to an increased risk of diabetes and therefore loss of their CDL and loss of income for themselves and family.

Success Story

Truck Driver Loses “Trucker Gut”

We have been over the road truck drivers for about 7 years. We don't have much of a chance to exercise on the road and had struggled with our weight for many years.

We began our Isagenix program on October. On our first Cleanse Program - Lisa released 10 pounds and Scott released 11 pounds – and both of us had tons of energy. We could hardly believe the amazing results ! We continued on and in a short period of time, Lisa released 17 pounds and Scott released 23 pounds and we both felt so happy and energized.

Since starting the program, Lisa went from a size 12 to a size 4 and released 28 lbs. total. Scott has gone from a tight size 36 to a loose 34 and has lost what was previously referred to as his 'trucker gut'. He has released over 30 pounds so far !

Amazingly, we did this all without exercise ! We also have more energy than ever before, even though we have given up coffee. We are so excited and we love telling all of our trucker friends about Isagenix. Now, our product is paying for itself * .

Thank you, for introducing us to Isagenix !

Scott and Lisa K, WA.
